Geschichte
Châteaurox ist nach der gleichnamigen frz. Adelsfamilie benannt, die hier 1138 eine Burg errichtete. Schon im 12. Jh. besaßen es frz. und engl. Fürsten. 1200 trat es König Johann von England an den frz. König Philipp II. August ab.
